Lightning F40 bullet-bike off to a flyer in rush-hour traffic
Is it a rocket? Is it a car? No, it's a push bike clad in aerodynamic fairing. Malcolm Lamming, of Angmering, West Sussex, uses his unusual bike for his 64-mile round-trip into and out of work at Portsmouth each day. Mr Lamming, 42, an engineering manager, flies past becalmed traffic on the US-made Lightning F40, which he bought in Germany. The machine cost £4,000 and has a top cruising speed of 35mph. So fast, Lightning bicycles were banned by the USCFRemember how great Tim did last year at the USCF Time Trials in Moriarty, NM? Well no more of that, thank you. The USCF has revised their rules to rule out recumbents:
It appears that Tim beat so many upright bikes out there, even some ridden by famous riders, that the USCF had to respond to prevent him or anyone from doing it again! Of course, you can still go out and do it to your local club riders! Not that we encourage such blatant competition--much! |
